January 18, 2009 - First Integrative Health Summit Held
A spirited core group of about 35 counselors, doctors, nurses, healers, writers, yoga instructors, teachers, farmers, and healthy chefs assembled at Fields of Athenry Farm for their First Integrative Health Summit. The informal, and very well attended meeting launched a new network of professionals whose collective mission is individual well-being and good health throughout the community. The group believes collaboration and shared resources are key to supporting their clients during times of illness as well health.
The network's main purpose is to educate and support each other as they work in the extremely demanding area of healing our communities. Each professional gave a brief summary of their work, area of expertise and interest, and projects for which they’d like collaboration. A database of this information is being compiled, and future Health Summits are being scheduled for summer and fall.
Field’s of Athenry Farm will be hosting a monthly “Farm to Community Health Outreach Series” for professionals to teach groups, give workshops, and share their knowledge with the community. The slated ongoing event will be held at the farm, on the third Saturday of each month from 3:00-5:pm. For Health Summit Calendar of Events Click here
